Payment & Refund Policy

African Textile Alliance™ is operated by Institute of African Textile, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company.

This Payment & Refund Policy applies to payments made for African Textile Alliance™ memberships, applications, review fees, verification, sourcing services, professional matching, promotional services, programs, events, education, sponsorships, institutional services, and other paid services offered through the platform.

Effective Date / Last Updated: August 27, 2026

Payment Terms

All applicable prices, fees, payment requirements, and material terms will be presented before a user completes a purchase.

Where a payment relates to an application, review, verification, membership request, sourcing-provider application, professional opportunity, or other selective process, payment covers the applicable processing, administration, review, or service described at the time of purchase.

Payment does not guarantee approval, acceptance, verification, membership, publication, selection, sourcing work, professional matching, partnership, recognition, participation, or any other particular result.

Additional services or work outside the scope of the original purchase may require additional fees.

Application & Review Fees

Application fees, review fees, verification fees, and similar administrative fees compensate ATA for reviewing, processing, evaluating, and administering a submission.

Once an application or paid review has been submitted and processing has begun, the applicable fee is non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

Applicants whose applications are not approved are not entitled to a refund solely because they were not accepted.

Processing Time

Standard review periods may begin at approximately 10 business days, but processing may take several weeks depending on:

  • application volume
  • complexity of the submission
  • verification requirements
  • missing or additional information
  • type of service requested
  • internal review capacity

Processing estimates are provided for guidance only and are not guaranteed completion dates.

ATA may request additional information before completing a review.

Membership Payments

ATA Membership is application-based and selective.

Payment of a Membership fee provides access to the benefits associated with the applicable Membership level for the applicable Membership period.

Membership fees are non-refundable after Membership access or benefits have been activated, except where required by applicable law or expressly stated otherwise at purchase.

If a Membership renews automatically, the renewal frequency, applicable price, billing terms, and cancellation instructions must be disclosed before the user enrolls in recurring billing.

Termination or suspension of Membership because of a violation of ATA rules, policies, or Code of Conduct does not create a right to a refund, except where required by applicable law.

Sourcing & Professional Services

Fees paid for sourcing requests, curated sourcing briefs, professional matching, sourcing projects, institutional sourcing engagements, consulting-related services, promotional services, or other customized professional services are non-refundable once ATA has begun performing the applicable work, except where required by applicable law.

ATA does not guarantee that sourcing, matching, or professional-introduction services will result in:

  • a contract
  • sale
  • employment
  • partnership
  • investment
  • production agreement
  • supplier relationship
  • professional engagement
  • or any other transaction

Promotional & Sponsored Services

Payments for promotional placements, sponsored opportunities, featured events, newsletter placements, social media promotion, advertising, or other promotional services are non-refundable once the service has been scheduled, prepared, published, or performance has otherwise begun, except where required by applicable law.

Payment for promotion does not guarantee specific traffic, engagement, sales, applications, business outcomes, media attention, or other commercial results.

Programs, Education, Mentorship & Events

Fees paid for educational programs, workshops, mentorship programs, exchange programs, forums, events, professional development, or similar services are subject to the terms displayed for the specific program.

Unless otherwise expressly stated, fees are non-refundable after enrollment has been confirmed or program preparation or delivery has begun, except where required by applicable law.

Sponsorships & Institutional Engagements

Sponsorships, institutional programs, customized projects, partnerships involving paid deliverables, and other specially negotiated engagements may be governed by separate written agreements.

Where a separate agreement exists, the payment and refund terms in that agreement control for that engagement.

Failed or Duplicate Payments

If a user believes they were charged incorrectly, charged more than once for the same transaction, or experienced another payment-processing issue, they should contact ATA promptly.

ATA will review confirmed billing errors and take appropriate action.

Unauthorized Transactions

Users who believe a payment was made without their authorization should contact both their payment provider and ATA as soon as possible.

Nothing in this Policy limits rights or remedies available under applicable law regarding unauthorized transactions or payment-processing errors.

Refund Exceptions

Although fees are generally non-refundable as described above, ATA may issue a refund, partial refund, credit, or other remedy:

  • where required by applicable law
  • where ATA determines that a billing error occurred
  • where a paid service cannot be provided by ATA
  • where ATA expressly agrees to a refund in writing
  • or where ATA determines in its discretion that another remedy is appropriate

Any discretionary refund in one circumstance does not create an obligation to provide refunds in other circumstances.

Changes to Services

African Textile Alliance™ may update, modify, reorganize, improve, suspend, replace, or discontinue future services, programs, features, pricing, benefits, eligibility requirements, or website functionality as the platform evolves.

Changes to future offerings do not automatically create a right to a refund for services already properly provided or initiated.

Material changes affecting an existing paid agreement will be handled in accordance with the terms governing that transaction and applicable law.

User Responsibility Before Payment

Before completing a purchase, users are responsible for reviewing:

  • the service being purchased
  • the amount charged
  • whether the payment is one-time or recurring
  • eligibility requirements
  • processing expectations
  • applicable refund terms
  • Terms & Conditions
  • Privacy Policy
  • and any additional terms presented for the specific service

At checkout

I have reviewed and agree to the applicable Terms & Conditions, Payment & Refund Policy, and payment terms. I understand that payment does not guarantee approval where the purchase involves an application, review, verification, or other selective process.
